Walking in the jungle
Baruch

Walking in the jungle
Far from any paths
Fencing with my machete
Nature appears to resist
Like the monkey running from the harpy
The bejuco pirouettes away
Stewing in sweat, I lead the dance
Alien animals call and bugs crawl
New neighbors to get to know
I come neither in peace nor war
I come to claim my territory
To make a home of my own
Aware of my ignorance, I cut
Intuition guiding my blade
Destroying to create
Free from help and judgement
Fear of God permeates the air
Filling me with love and awe
Here, I can just be me
Co-create balance and plenty
Become aware of blessings
